This morning I wanted to take kid to the waste water treatment tour. But I realized they are too little to understand where poop goes.

This morning I wanted to take kid to the waste water treatment tour. But I realized they are too little to understand where poop goes.

We went for a hike on July 4th. After we walked a little, I realized I was hungry and slowly the kids realized it too. We walked for a mile or so and then turned back. It was beautiful there.

We had a veggie bed built in the side yard last week. This project took more than I anticipated. It should have taken a day but the guy we hired built it like he was building a piano. We planted flowers in the middle and veggies in one box. The third box belongs to the boys. They planted some seeds and some flowers.

R&M haven’t been playing piano for the last 4 months ( which for their age is a lot of time). We stopped before our gigantic ( should never attempt again) trip. We started back in May but didn’t get the groove back until last week. It was a struggle to get back. The teacher is repeating the lessons again. Finally, last week, I made sure they practiced every day. By today, they didn’t even resist. In fact, they enjoyed playing. R taught his sister how to do it .. and M played some extra pieces.
There is something to be said about discipline… structure/routine and practice. This summer D and I are training ourselves for the upcoming school year. We need to take boys to one school and baby to the other. we need to have a real good routine worked out to make it work. Unfortunately, neither D nor I are good at sticking to a routine.
Right now, I am looking for healthy breakfasts from around the world. Foods that have been there for 1000 years. I don’t want to give them bread or cereal. Should look deeper.

We are having rain, thunderstorms ( with hail sometimes), twisters, funnel clouds on a daily basis. This pic was taken this afternoon just after hail.
R&M are done with the music camp. They enjoyed it. R said he liked it because they did projects everyday. Today he said, I know what a “forte” and “piano” mean. They must have learnt something there.

Not a lot was done this week and I am kind bummed about that. I should be more organized. R is getting better. Today he went to school and then he took an afternoon nap. I tried to make M write numbers but he resisted. Then he and I played a pattern game while baby was drawing.
Yesterday afternoon K dropped by and while I was holding R, she read a book to the other kiddies. Baby fell asleep soon after than as if she was drugged.

Last night we went to Chucky E Cheese to attend a birthday party. It was a first time for all of us. Mama had lots of fun.
